The city of WestHollywood in Los Angeles just took some big steps to help people feel saferwhen using public bathrooms. A lot of public bathrooms are labeled women’sbathroom or men’s bathroom.
For many gendernon-conforming, genderqueer, or transgender people using a bathroom can be reallystressful. While many communities have already started doing this, cities like Philadelphia and Washington DC are following their lead.
This law helps people make the best decision for themselves about which restroom to use and encourages other people not to judge, police, or mistreat fellow bathroom goers. The law also supports parents with children of another gender.
